24 Hours in South Beach Miami

Do you have a short period of time in South Beach Miami and are not sure how to spend it? Below is a trip itinerary that will give you a snapshot of what SoBe is all about!

Start the day with a great cup of coffee and pastry or a hearty breakfast from Paul's cafe, a french pastry place right on Lincoln Road Mall. While the shopping is your "any mall USA" experience, people watching is one of a kind and if you are lucky, you may even encounter a photo shoot in the middle of the outdoor mall.

After breakfast, head down to Collins Avenue for a 15-20 minute walk to First street. You don't have to be an architect to enjoy the Art Deco buildings, which were built between the 1920s and 30s and restored in the 1980s. Keep your eye out for some 1960s cars parked outside the stylish boutique hotels.

Of course, Miami would not be Miami without the crystal clear waters and the trendy beach crowd. If you are not the beach type, why not take a 1-2 hour boat tour to Biscayne Bay and see if you can spot some of the rich and famous sunbathing.

For lunch and dinner, the best places to eat are either right on Collins Avenue or at the Lincoln Road Mall.  While multiculturalism is high, Cuban food is not to be missed, so you can see firsthand how Miami earned its nickname, "Little Havana."

Keep in mind that no matter where you go in Miami, you are bound to find the mix of North American and Latin American vibes. The air is filled with Cuban cuisine, the sounds of Latin and pop hit songs are intermixed and when you pass locals, you'll hear Spanish and English words used in the same sentence.

For night-life, you can check out some great night clubs such as Cameo, Yuca and W Hotel.  If you're dying to see a dance show, check out Mangos Tropical Cafe or if you're trying to save money just go for a walk on Collins Avenue and in no time you'll succumb to the latin vibrations.

For some local attitude and information, you can check out the South Beach Blogger and Miami and Beaches.

Enjoy the beaches, food, nightlife and people watching and do not forget your camera for some great Art Deco and hot body pictures!
