Did you have any prior development or coding experience?
Yes, Brian Kayfitz (www.briankayfitz.com) the main developer on the project had 2+ years of experience in developing apps and even longer on developing games.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.
We just launched UnDebt, https://apps.apple.com/us/app/undebt-payoff-off-your-debt/id1512498841?ls=1 it’s a simple app to see if you can get rid of your debt faster by optimizing for interest savings or duration. Other apps we love are: XE Exchange – love the graphics and how easy it is to see the difference in currency super helpful for travellers. Spotify for music is fantastic especially their ability to find similar songs and expand your range. And Ray Wenderlich which is a fantastic resource for learning mobile development.

How long have you been working on this app?
It launched back in 2014 but having only one developer working on his off days, makes it a very slow process. With key features such as “experiences” by country or selecting different regions did not get added until 2018/2019.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?
The app idea came from a personal need to keep track of all countries visited and all the places still on my personal list to visit. While using pen and paper, I wanted to find something digital to keep track of my travels but when I could not find anything I liked, I decided to create the app.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.
Visited is different from other apps as it allows for cool stats such as the top 10 countries most visited from your location. It also allows you to rank against other world travelers. We built it with simplicity in mind, while over time we did listen to our users and added more details regarding regions and things like countries where a user had a specific experience such as golf, snorkeling, etc.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?
The next version of the app will include more regions and have an itinerary component where users can add dates and write personal notes on hotels to stay in (or stayed in previously), cities visited, etc.

Assuming new users of your app are reading this page. What do you want to ask them to do (contact you about X, Share the app, etc.)?
Sharing the app is always great, comparing your travel map to your friends is a fantastic way to get inspired about future travels and share fun memories.
