Porto or Oporto is a city located in the Northern part of Portugal and the 2nd largest city after Lisbon. In the past couple of years, Porto has become a must see city. Therefore, it was not strange that I added it to my list of a must visit city, and during my trip to Portugal I was excited to visit it. To my disappointment I did not find the city to be as breathtaking as described in travel magazines and by bloggers. While the city, at one point must have been beautiful, today it is in great need of restoration, apart from the new metro which was completed in recent years. If it was not for the economic downturn, the city would have been one of the most beautiful places to visit, however, at the moment it is a work in progress.
