Queluz National Palace, is one of the later palaces in Europe, built in the Rocco style and is said to be the Portuguese Versailles. Queluz was built in the late 18th century by the architect Mateus Vicente De Oliveira and despite suffering from a fire in 1934, it has been restored and is now open to the public. However, some may say it still needs to be restored as colours are fading. To visit this palace, it is just a short 20 minute drive from Lisbon and a great stop before going to Sintra
